It felt like I ordered half the menu for three but everything was so amazing that we managed to eat most of it. I love that nearly everything on the menu is gluten free, probably why I got so carried away, including the soy sauce that they have at all the tables (tamari). My favorite roll was the green machine, followed by Friday the 13th, full circle and then the unicorn roll. The cucumber sunamono was alright for something nice and light and all the fish was incredibly fresh, including our nigiri. Almost forgot about the spicy scallop roll and poke but I guess those made less of an impression. Still great, don't get me wrong. But seriously, get the green machine and Friday the 13th and you will thank me later.

Came here for my wife's birthday yesterday and boy was the management and staff amazing. They went out of their way to allow me to drop off a surprise gift for my wife and had it sitting on table when got sat. Then came the tasty food that exceeded our expectations. I love the ambiance of this quant little restaurant seated right in the middle of an awesome neighborhood.

[gluten free reviewer] Bamboo doubles as a favorite happy hour spot & is always my favorite place to celebrate a special occasion with my partner. Having a hard time deciding on a roll? The green machine and unicorn rolls never get old. Top it off with an order of the citrus salted king salmon nigiri - it might be the best thing you taste... ever. Dessert option that slaps: black sesame brownie. The servers at all locations are always so kind and seem like they enjoy their job. We have always had a pleasant experience no matter the location we visit. The ambiance tends to be chill, relaxed, and easy to have a conversation in. Plus! Their cocktails and sake selection are the icing on the cake. If you think bamboo is mainstream and not legit or don't trust it because it's a chain, my recommendation is to at least give it a chance because you'll likely be converted into a repeat customer immediately!!!

What a wonderful lunch! Everything about this place was amazing. We had the nicest server that had great recommendations. I felt overwhelmed by the menu because I wanted to get everything but he helped me narrow down what would he thought I'd like. My friend ordered the Chicken Kaargae, Fried Rice and the Flower Power NA drink. It was all incredible and so fresh. It was refreshing to see an NA drink at a reasonable price and it was so unique! I ended up ordering the Tuna Tataki and the Chef's Choice Chirashi. Both were amazing but the Chef's Choice Chirashi blew me away. I've never had sashimi like this before. It was fun not knowing what I was getting. $35 for this dish was a great price as well! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town

Had an amazing sushi happy hour date for two in downtown, and everything from the ambiance to the service was top-tier! The setting was beautiful and relaxing, and both the hostess and bartender were fantastic! Here's what we tried: Wagyu Sliders - Caramelized onion, Tillamook white cheddar, and momji aioli on a buttery brioche bun. Crispy Chicken Nugs - Served with wasabi honey, crispy fresnos, and furikake--a perfect mix of crunch and flavor! Green Machine Roll (V) - A tempura-fried green bean roll with avocado, green onion, cilantro, and sweet chili aioli. Hand Roll Trio - Spicy tuna, spicy albacore, and spicy salmon. All fresh and delicious! For cocktails, Davy Jones' Locker - A dreamy blend of white rum, ube, coconut, lime, and ginger beer. Everything was flavorful and well-balanced, and the happy hour made it even better! Definitely recommend this spot for sushi and cocktails. Can't wait to go back!

I've been to many Bamboo Sushi locations and this location is pretty good! Overall, Bamboo sushi is a pretty consistent and reliable sushi chain in Portland and they offer a variety of delicious rolls, nigiri, and other dishes. It is one of the few sushi spots that has some vegan options as well. Service was good but a bit slow when I went to this location. Other than that, I had a great time!

Been here a few times, and it's always great because the ingredients are so fresh! This was my first time at their downtown location. Ambiance: 5/5 Simple, modern, and very clean--perfect for a nice dining experience. Service: Everyone was incredibly kind and genuine, which made the experience even better. Food: 4/5 this time (but it's usually a solid 5/5 for me!) We visited during happy hour and tried a mix of items: Green Machine: Not on happy hour but their most popular item--and I can see why. It's a little sweet and sour, though I only made it halfway through before feeling a bit off. Personally, I prefer lighter, more citrusy sushi. Chef's Selection Nigiri: The salmon was the standout (as always)--so fresh and flavorful! Hand Roll Trio: Nothing too special, but again, the salmon hand roll was the highlight. Miso Glazed Black Cod: I realized I'm not a big fan of cod, but the flavors (ginger, orange, yuzu miso, and green onion) made it a cohesive dish. This is definitely a place I'd recommend for special occasions or if you're in the mood to splurge a little. Other than that expensive for the amount you get unfortunately :(

This was recommended to me as a delicious sushi place in downtown Portland and it did not disappoint! First off, when we walked in, we were hit by an appetizing smell that we couldn't figure out what it was. After being seated and chatting with the waiter, it turns out it was their genmaicha tea - calling all green tea lovers, order this! I started off with some miso soup as it was a chilly day and oh my, was the food delicious! I recommend the Tofu Agedashi as it had such a light tempura texture that we could have been fooled if you told us it wasn't tempura. Vegetarians and meat eaters will both love this. We had a winning combination of orders including the Sunset (crab and spicy tuna), Garden of Eden (spicy albacore and seared tuna), and Bamboo Dragon (shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, seasoned crab). It's pretty affordable for quality sushi, so definitely come here and make sure to get here early as it fills up fast.

Invited here by a friend who's a regular. So glad we accepted. Wow. Fantastic sushi! Our server was super sweet and explained some of the more unique menu items to me. Next time we're downtown and are craving sushi - this will be the place!

This is a great sushi spot in downtown Portland, the food was great quality and restaurant itself was very nice for a date or dinner with friends. When we visited the resturant wasn't too busy but we still had a bit of a wait time. The staff was pretty accommodating to walk ins for a Friday night. We orders a ton of stuff from the menu to try and our favorite were the tuna truffle crispy rice and the bamboo dragon. All the rolls were great and pretty different from one another offering a good variety. The kitchen menu was also very good, specifically the miso glazed cod. Overall I would visit Bamboo again and recommend others to check out this spot.
